Why be active? The facts
Most people know that they should have five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, but aren’t aware of the recommended 30 minutes of exercise each day. This may sound like alot but you can break this down into 3 10 min session if you wish and then build up.
Every day activities
The good news is that being active doesn’t mean you have to join a gym or play a sport. It means incorporating simple activities like brisk walking or climbing stairs into your daily routine. If you take a bus, get off a few stops early; when you go to the supermarket, park at the far end of the car park; while you’re talking on the phone walk around instead of sitting. Why not take part in one of ourline exercise routines? Or have a look at the activitys that we offer in kirklees.
You can do the things you usually do, but maybe a little faster or with a little more effort and it will make all the difference – every little helps. Just remember feeling and looking good doesn’t have to be hard work!
You should be aiming to achieve the recommended minimum of 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on at least five days a week.
Moderate intensity activity means you should feel warm and slightly out of breath.
